Batik Jumputan
Jumputan is a traditional tie-dye method originating from Palembang, Indonesia.
To make your own batik cloth, simply obtain the following materials:
-Cotton cloth
-Rubber bands
-Garam (Salt)
-Pot or metal bowl
-Marbles and/or coins
-Cloth dye
-Boiled water
-Needle and thread (optional)
And follow the steps below:
-Use rubber bands, plastic bags and/or marbles to create patterns on the cloth
-Boil water and add dye and salt (to help keep the colour on the cloth longer)
-Stir consistently for about 10-20min
-Remover plastic bags and rubber bands
-Unravel cloth to reveal the finished product

During Project Night, teman-teman kuliah kita proudly showcased their artwork on stage, and the colours were so vibrant that it could be seen even from the back of the lecture theater! It's quite amazing that something so pretty could have been made from materials that are so easily obtainable.
